The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary has been honoured with two prestigious rural business awards at a ceremony held at The Isle of Wight County Show on Monday (June 26).
The Sanctuary has been awarded Rural Tourism Small business of the 12 months and can now boast the title of Rural Business enterprise of the Calendar year.
The common neighborhood charity, centered in Wroxall, is residence to 123 rescued and abandoned donkeys together with numerous ponies and horses.
Given that becoming rescued from the brink of bankruptcy a small above 10 several years ago, the charity has long gone from energy to strength underneath the leadership of charity manager Derek Needham and small business partner Carol Foote.
When questioned for his reaction, Derek reported:
